This is the first deck of oracle cards I ever used… but my first experience with it was actually virtual. I bought the Ascended Masters deck on my phone and, I have to admit, pulling a virtual card was one of the things I most looked forward to in the morning. After months of virtual use, I decided to bite the bullet and purchase the deck in 3D from my local metaphysical shop. I’m pretty happy I did.
Name: Ascended Masters Oracle Cards
Creator: Doreen Virtue, Ph.D.
Publisher: Hay House, Inc.
Number of cards in deck: 44
Illustrations: The first thing that strikes me about this deck is the beautiful and ornate depictions of the ascended masters. The illustrations are detailed and highlight the divine nature of each master. I am especially impressed with the global representation of the masters. This deck pulls from Buddist, Hindu, Christian, Nordic, Shinto, Lakota, and Egyptian masters (to name a few!). An image of Archangel Michael is on the back of each card.
Feel: I have to admit. I love the feel of this deck in my hands. I have large hands, yes, but often have trouble with larger card decks. This deck is just right. The cards are slightly thicker than a regular deck of playing cards and are gilded on the sides so they look super fancy as you shuffle them.
Purpose: There is really nothing that this deck cannot be used for, however, I get the most out of this deck when I am looking for general guidance or a “feel” for how something will occur. Most of the card messages are positive, so I always have something to look forward to when I use this deck.
Booklet: The booklet is super helpful. The cards are listed in alphabetical order and include a black and white image of each card. Each card has a general description, additional meanings of the card in bullet-point form, and even a history of the ascended master. The booklet also contains a few spread suggestions and instructions on how to cleanse and energize your cards.
Final verdict: This is one of my favorite card decks. It comes in handy in a myriad of situations so it ALWAYS has a use. The colors are vibrant, and the illustrations are detailed. It’s always a treat for me to work with this deck.
